Bewal is a town and Union Council in the eastern part of Gujar Khan Tehsil and to south east from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan. Bewal along with Sui Cheemian is today probably the most wealthy place anywhere in rural Pakistan, with a large proportion of its population being settled in Europe, particularly the UK. A major new hospital, Bewal International Hospital, is now operational and is providing quality healthcare to surrounding and distant patients. The hospital was founded by Dr. Atiq-ur-Rehman in memory of his late father, Abdul Rehman and named the trust after him.
